New Truck Spotting: Crabcakes 911

New Truck Spotting: Crabcakes 911

Last week I pulled up to Moody’s Commissary  and thought something was awfully wrong. Upon first glance I thought I saw an ambulance in the parking lot. Upon closer inspection I realized it was actually a new truck in town called Crabcakes 911. I got to speak with the owner, Vonnie, for a few minutes and I’m very excited to get a chance to try the crabcakes soon.

Apparently the truck was formerly owned by the Red Cross and was used to feed crowds in emergency situations. According to Vonnie, the truck actually served at Ground Zero after the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

The truck looks beautiful inside and out, and I believe the unique-ness of the truck itself will really help Vonnie’s new business. One of my favorite aspects of the truck is that it actually has a bathroom onboard, which means it is exempt from the regulation that forces trucks to park where they have access to a restroom. Another unique thing about this truck is the siren. Yep, it has a siren.

Anyway, best of luck to Vonnie in her new mobile venture!

Happy Truckin’
